Reports to: Campus Principal
Days required: 187
Salary Range:
- Depending upon experience
- According to the Salary Scheduled approved by the HISD Board of Trustees
Position Requirements:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Valid Educational Aide I certification from the Texas Education Agency
- Demonstrate oral (and written) proficiency in English/Spanish, preferred
- Meet the NCLB highly qualified requirements:
- Associate’s degree or higher, or
- Two years of college, minimum of 48 semester hours, or
- Successful completion of local paraprofessional exam and high school diploma or equivalency
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
Experience
- Some experience working with children
